Priority Points

TCU Football has returned to national prominence. With Top 25 finishes in five of the past seven seasons and bowl appearances in nine of the last 10, the Frogs can be counted on to be among the country’s best year in and year out.
The Frogs also are a hot ticket. In December 2005, more than 20,000 TCU fans made their way to the 2005 Houston Bowl to see the Frogs beat Iowa State. In 2006, home football attendance was strong and the largest crowd in 22 years at Amon G. Carter Stadium cheered the Frogs as they toppled Texas Tech. 2007 brought yet another bowl trip with high demand for tickets.
Thousands of fans will make road trips to future games in venues such as Baton Rouge, Annapolis and Fayetteville as well as Mountain West Conference destinations.
At the same time, the Frogs’ schedule has become more attractive. Future road games include Texas Tech (2010), LSU (2013), Baylor and Navy (2011) and Arkansas (2014).
Our Challenge
Ticket demand has increased to the point that TCU must have
a fair way to handle Frog Fans’ growing interest.
- Who will get access to tickets for high-demand road football games?
- Who gets the best seats at the next bowl game?
- How many tickets can fans buy?
- How will tickets be distributed?
There has to be a system for who sits where. Now there is.
The Solution
Introducing Horned Frog Priority Points, TCU’s donor and fan reward system.
Approved by the Athletics Committee of the Board of Trustees and the Frog Club Board
of Directors effective June 1, 2006, Horned Frog Priority Points provides a fair and objective means to distribute premium tickets to donors and season ticket holders.
Modeled after similar systems at Baylor, Wake Forest, Northwestern, Miami (Fla.), Louisville and Alabama, all donors and season ticket holders will be assigned points based on several criteria, including annual Frog Club contributions, capital project gifts, cumulative athletic giving and season ticket loyalty.
The TCU Frog Club, which will administer the system, will calculate point totals one time each year
on June 1. The totals will determine ticket access and seat priority for:
- bowl games
- NCAA and NIT Basketball Tournament games
- NCAA Baseball Regional games
- regular season road games
This system helps you and TCU by:
- creating a fair, incentive-based system for all donors and season ticket holders
- rewarding your investment in TCU Athletics, which in turn directly supports the operation of major Division I-A men’s and women’s programs
“As momentum and interest continues in TCU Athletics, we need a system to handle ticket access
and reward donor loyalty. Horned Frog Priority Points is a first step toward a more orderly, fair and
definitive donor reward system.”
- Danny Morrison, Athletics Director
